Frequently asked questions

Catering and Bar

Q. Do you have preferred Caterer(s)?

A. No, you are welcome to use any external caterer but they must be fully insured and registered as such.  The majority of local caterers are already registered with us, any new caterers must complete a registration process and are welcome for a site visit during this process.

Q. Can we hire food trucks / mobile food operators / ice cream vans?

A. Yes there is a designated area next to the Pavilion.  We ask all mobile food operators to comply with External caterer registration process if they wish to access and use the commercial kitchen. Access to services should be requested in advance. All mobile food operators must remove all their own waste.

Q. Do you provide tableware?

A.  We provide flutes, wine glasses and water glasses for the tables, and your chosen Caterer will provide cutlery and crockery.  Some caterers provide table clothes and napkins.  For those who do not, we can provide details of linen hire companies - you may find it cheaper to buy new table clothes.  Our tables are 6ft round (120" table clothes to cover table legs) and we recommend up to 10 guests seated per table.

Q. Can we bring our own drinks, bubbles, wine for tables?

A.  No, we do not offer a corkage option so it is not possible to bring your own drinks. We have a fully stocked bar at local pub prices, with wide range of house spirits, premium spirits and beers, along with good selection of Scottish craft gins and malt whisky.  We can arrange any special order wines, spirits, beers with at least 8 weeks prior notice.  You are not permitted to bring and consume your own drinks within the licensed areas - this includes the car park, garden grounds, Horse Shoe & Coorie.

All friends and family staying, day and evening guests and Suppliers (Photographer, Hair and Make up, Bands etc) should park their vehicles in the carpark to the rear (20 metres) of the Hooley.  Strictly no parking is permitted around the front or back of Netherdale House.  This is for everyone's safety and to ensure clear access for emergency vehicles at all times.  The only exception is Catering vans - there is a designated space for them at the kitchen entrance of the Hooley.
